Catch them Being Good

Catch them Being Good: Submitted by Anonymous

I like to catch my students being good as this quickly spreads to other students. The one time this strategy always works well is when we are lining up to go somewhere. I will quickly pick out a couple of students who are standing nicely and will say:

“Look how good so-and-so is standing in line; I wonder if anyone else can stand in line like that!”

Brain Breaks Keep Students Energized and Focused

Brain breaks are just what they sound like: breaks for the brain. Giving the brain a break from thinking every so often helps the brain stay focused and attentive to the task at hand. This allows students to learn more and enjoy learning more.
