Music is a Tool for Classroom Management

Teachers have been discovering the diverse tool of music that can benefit their classroom management. Students can be calmed, encourage and even helped to focus through the careful use of music.

When introducing music into the classroom, make sure to explain to students what you are doing and why. Specifically take the time to teach them what the music is for and how they are to respond so that there is no issue. Being purposeful and open with students about music and instruction alike will help manage student behaviors in the classroom.
